Admissions
Concord Academy serves students diagnosed with learning disabilities, Asperger’s Syndrome, anxiety/depression disorders, and/or attention deficit disorders who may benefit from our nurturing environment and
modified academic curriculum.
Please call the school office at (901) 682-3115 to request an introductory information packet. We will also gladly answer any questions you might have about our school and programs. If, after reviewing the information provided in the packet, you feel Concord Academy might be an appropriate “fit” for your student, follow the steps below.
DOCUMENTATION
Gather and submit to the school office all required documentation regarding your student’s diagnosis and academic/social needs listed in the introductory packet. This documentation will be used to determine potential eligibility for placement at Concord.
TOUR
Call our office at (901) 682-3115 to schedule a tour of the school facilities. On the day of your tour, you will also meet with our Guidance and Admissions Counselor to discuss your student’s specific needs and explore if and how Concord may be able to serve your student.
STUDENT VISIT
After your tour, if you are interested in pursuing admission and our staff has determined your student does meet eligibility requirements based on the provided documentation, call the school office to schedule a date for your student to visit during a school day. Your student will participate in a class schedule appropriate for his/her functioning level. Our staff assessment of your student’s functioning during this visit will be reviewed when determining final acceptance for admission.
APPLICATION
A student who meets eligibility requirements and is determined to be a “good fit” for our school population will be offered admission* to Concord Academy. You will then receive an Admission Packet to complete. All forms must be completed and returned to the school office with a $100.00 application fee before the Admissions Team will review your student’s file for final eligibility.
*Note: Admission is based on space availability. Concord offers educational opportunities without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, or sex. You will be offered the option of being placed on a waiting list if we do not have an opening in the appropriate grade level at the time of application.
ELIGIBILITY
After receiving the completed Admission Packet and fee, our Admissions Team will review all submitted documentation (including IQ, achievement, and adaptive behavior scores; complete diagnosis; and direct observations during student visits) to make a final determination if your student meets admission standards and appears to be a good candidate for admission at Concord Academy. You will be notified of the Admission Team’s decision within five business days of your submittal of all required documentation and fees.
ENROLLMENT
Upon acceptance for enrollment, you will receive an Enrollment Packet to complete and information regarding tuition payment arrangements. Your student may begin classes after all paperwork is completed and payment arrangements are made. To facilitate the transition to Concord, your student will be assigned a staff “sponsor” who will serve as your child’s advocate and mentor during his/her tenure at Concord.
AT CONCORD ACADEMY YOUR STUDENT WILL EXPERIENCE HOPE AND SUCCESS, ACCEPTANCE AND ENCOURAGEMENT, AND BUILD FRIENDSHIPS THAT WILL LAST A LIFETIME.
