Mid-South Teen Volunteer EXPO

Monday, April 30, 2012 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38111

The Mid-South Teen Volunteer EXPO gives teens the opportunity to connect with local non-profit agencies who are seeking teen volunteers to serve at their agency. Teens, this is a perfect way to spend your summer making an impact in your community. As a Mid-South Teen Summer Volunteer, you would have the opportunity to volunteer at variety of agencies addressing different social issues such as hunger, animals, arts, seniors and more. There are numerous opportunities for you to choose!

Chilly Chili Walk-a-Thon

Concord’s Second Annual Chilly Chili Walk-a-Thon was held Saturday, December 10 at the Church of Holy Communion field. The students and staff walked 3 miles to help raise over $20,000 for their school on a “chilly” Saturday morning. After the walk everyone enjoyed a warm bowl of “chili” from Firehouse Subs. The event began at 11 am with Andrew Douglas from Channel 5 as emcee of the event. View the video above to see last year’s event.
