CONCORD ACADEMY PTO
The mission of Concord Academy’s PTO is to strengthen, enhance, and encourage
the educational and social environment of Concord Academy and to complement the
school curriculum with additional opportunities for students, parents, and
teachers to learn, socialize, communicate, and grow.
A general description of how the PTO functions is as follows: All families and staff
members of Concord Academy are members of the PTO. The Concord Academy PTO Board of Officers consists of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The Board represents all Concord families when handling PTO business. Officer positions are open to any interested Concord parent/guardian. Officers serve on a year-to-year basis and may serve multiple years if willing. A Concord Academy staff member also serves on the PTO Board as a liaison between the PTO and the school, school administration, and teachers.
The PTO establishes a proposed calendar of events and an operating budget at the beginning of each school year. The PTO meets as needed throughout the year to manage the organizational and financial aspects of all PTO functions. The money used to sponsor PTO events is raised through PTO fundraising events. The PTO sponsors a wide variety of programs and events for social and fundraising purposes. The PTO also initiates programs to increase educational opportunities for parents.
The PTO’s success can be seen in the students’ appreciation for their school, their eachers, and by the variety of opportunities afforded them by the works of the PTO.
